The holidays are rapidly approaching, so if you’re looking for a gift for another photographer in your life (or even for your wish list), here are some ideas from the Fundy team:
1. Trillo & Son Leather Co. Products
Our friend and award-winning photographer, Hiram Trillo, has started a beautiful line of camera straps and leather goods called Trillo & Son Leather Co. We were lucky enough to see some of the samples when Hiram visited our office a few months ago, and we can attest to the quality and craftsmanship. Products are on sale through December, so don’t miss out. Prices for camera straps range from $65 to $99 USD full price. Shop here.
2. Lensbaby’s Sweet Spot for iPhone
Take beautiful, creative images that have a “sweet spot” of focus surrounded by blur with our friends at Lensbaby’s first lens for Android & iPhone. Download the specially designed app for the best user experience – move the sweet spot around the frame and get only the things you want in focus. Shop here for the lens ($69.95 USD), and the app is available in the App Store and Google Play.
3. Leica D-Lux Type 109
The Leica D-Lux Type 109 was one of the cameras Fundy recommended in this week’s Tip of the Week: Point-and-Shoots for the Professional. In Fundy’s words, “This camera is insane.” It’s the same quality as the Olympus OMD, it has an f/1.7-2.8 so it shoots in the dark, has a built-in viewfinder and a hot shoe so you can use studio flash or off-camera flash. Check it out here (retail $1,199 USD).
4. Ona – Camera Bags and Accessories
Ona has a gorgeous line of camera bags and accessories, all made from high quality materials including full-grain cowhide leather, waxed cotton canvas, and closed-cell foam. The purpose behind the brand is to create bags that fit your lifestyle, and they are absolutely beautiful. Prices vary depending on product – shop here.
5. DSLRKIT Photographer’s Wristband SET
These flexible lens bracelets are a great stocking stuffer for the photography enthusiast. Purchase here for just $7.95 USD.
6. SDPNT Vintage Lens Bracelets
If you like the idea of a lens bracelet, and want something unique, we are totally digging these vintage camera lens bracelets by SDPNT. All shaped by hand in the USA from real lenses, they are a very cool gift. Full disclosure, it looks like many of them are currently sold out, but you should be able to contact them to place a future order. Prices range from $225-$300 USD. Shop here.
7. “I’ve Been Known to Flash People” T-shirt
Just because it’s funny (you know you laughed). This t-shirt is for the goofy photographer in your life – purchase here ($14.98 USD).
8. MagMod Basic Kit
This is an awesome product we love, and Fundy wrote up a review on it back in the spring. In a nutshell, this product is a rubber grip that goes on the head of your speed light that has super awesome strong magnets in it. Then you can attach a grid spot or gels that also have magnets, making it easy to mix and match. There is one base with multiple attachments, and more options to come. Basic kit is $89 USD – shop here.
9. Camera Lens Coffee Mug
For the Canon enthusiast, these lens mugs look just like your favorite lenses – they have lens cap tops, rubber-grip focus rings and even an auto focus switch. This is a great gift for the photographer on the go, and they have an easy to clean stainless steel lining so no fuss clean-up. Prices range from $24-$30 USD – purchase here.
10. Vintage Camera Onesie
This vintage camera onesie from twinzzshop on Etsy was too cute not to put on the list. A perfect gift for new or soon-t0-be parents – you can never start them too young! Comes in made-to-order custom colors for $25 USD – purchase here.
