This tip comes from our great friend Dave Cross. He’s nothing short of a Photoshop Guru. I thought I knew a lot about Photoshop, then I started watching what he does.
We all have those situations where we need to use content-aware fill (introduced in CS5) but the fill keeps pulling color/selection from a person, or a piece of the photo that we don’t want it to use. Well, it’s as simple as using a quick layer mask to tell content-aware fill what not to touch.
Here, Dave Cross goes into detail on how to do this. Watch this video for 3 minutes and you’ll save hours and hours down the road with quick fixes, whether it’s removing some garbage on the road or an overzealous church lady during a ceremony. This will help.
