We’ve all heard it and we’ve all said it – “I really need to design myself a studio magazine”. But too often, we think it will take too long and we’re not sure what to say or how to start. Fortunately, the studio magazine templates included in the Design Library of Fundy Designer are not just beautifully designed for you, they are also professionally pre-written. Follow the three steps below on how to ramp up your marketing materials and set yourself up for success!
1. Gather Your Images
Fundy Designer has multiple magazine templates for weddings, family, boudoir, high school senior, commercial and more. The first step is to gather your portfolio images for each magazine you want to complete. If you are designing different genres, create a folder for each genre.
Add in beautiful photos of your album samples, wall art previews, card previews, or any other printed product you want to include.
Next, go to the design library and download the template design sets you want for your magazines.
Then, in the same location, go to the card designs and filter by marketing cards and download the card designs you want to use.
Next, import your images and start laying out your magazine(s). The software auto designs for you but makes it easy for you to make changes and adjustments. Just swap out images and edit text to reflect your brand and offerings. You can easily move/add/remove pages to make it just right for you. Now it’s time to design the matching cards. All of the marketing cards are designed to be printed on 6×8 cards to make an impact. You can utilize this size or resize them automatically in Fundy Designer. To learn how to design cards, see these tutorial.
2. Export as PDFs
For the magazines, in addition to printing them, you can export them as PDFs and upload them to your website. Now, clients can download them right from your website at any time. Additionally, you can include links back to the pdf’s on your website to your magazines in any newsletters or marketing communication.
3. Print Your Magazines and Marketing Cards
All magazines and cards can be ordered directly from Fundy Designer in the United States through Millers Lab. Additionally, magazines can be ordered direct internationally through GraphiStudio. Finally, all magazines can be exported as print files and printed at any professional lab or press printing facility.
