Two weeks ago ProDPI released their new press albums. For those unfamiliar with the difference between traditional flush mount and press printed albums, it’s quite simple. Flush mount albums are printed on traditional photo paper, press printed albums are printed on press paper (just like post cards and magazines). In years past, with 4 color presses, there was a big difference between the quality of press prints and photographic prints, but with recent technological improvements, there is very little difference in the print quality, but the cost savings of a press album are significant.
ProDPI Press Album Options
ProDPI’s Press Albums are done on press papers in a traditional layflat style. Spreads are printed in full sheets so that there is no loss between pages, then creased and mounted to a rigid black board that leaves each page extra thick. Printing is available on three paper types: Smooth Matte, Linen, or Stipple. That’s not all! Customize your album with one of your many favorite ProDPI Fabrics or design a Fusion or Photo cover. Available in sizes 5×5, 8×8, 10×8 Horizontal, 10×10, 8×10 Vertical, 12×12, and 11×14 Vertical.
My Album
Personally, I ordered a 12×12, 20-page press album with a fusion cover on the front and back. When it arrived, I knew that ProDPI delivered on their high quality. It was bound perfectly and the first thing I noticed was no page warping (which had been a problem with other press albums we have reviewed).
** note, this was a signing book so there is blank space for signing.
The album was beautiful, really nothing more to say than order your studio a sample and start selling them. For more information click here, for pricing information, click here and download the pricing guide.
