In early March, we implemented ordering to RedTree Albums through Fundy Direct. We have had so much positive feedback and wanted to showcase the craftspeople behind RedTree Albums.
We sat down with Billy Grubbs, part of the customer service and product development team, whose main job is to connect with photographers. We couldn’t think of a better job to have!
Ultimately we are here to help you, the photographer, elevate your work with the beauty of print. Your clients need heirlooms, tangible pieces of your artwork that they can cherish and show-off to friends and family.
Can you tell us a little about the history of the company?
RedTree began in the basement of Josh’s (our owner) photography studio as a small side-project. As a perfectionist with a keen eye for quality, he began making albums in-house after struggling to find the right product for his clients. Over time, word spread amongst photographers and RedTree Albums was born.

[We believe in…] taking photography off screen. Getting back to the basics. Working with our hands to create pure, tangible renditions of your photographs.
I see that you are based in Louisville, KY. What do you want people to know about the local community?
Louisville is a gem. It’s the perfect balance of city life and small town vibes. We are known for our craft coffee, a never-ending foodie scene, the wide range of culture and talented artists in town, college sports, the Kentucky Derby, and last but never least, bourbon. In short, coffee and bourbon.
What is your favorite part about creating albums?
Taking photography off screen. Getting back to the basics. Working with our hands to create pure, tangible renditions of your photographs. Print is a beautiful thing and if we aren’t careful, our prized work will get lost in the cloud.
What do you enjoy most about working with professional photographers?
[We feel that] photographers are just like us! At RedTree, we are artists pouring love and attention into our albums. Photographers are our teammates. Together, we can make beautiful products.
Occasionally, photographers share with us how an album has impacted their client or client’s family in a positive way. It’s a great reminder that our work doesn’t go unnoticed and photographers deserve our best.
…Fundy Direct allows our photographers to make the process [of creating albums] seamless from start-to-finish.
How do you feel about Fundy offering direct ordering from the software?
We love it! One of our goals at RedTree is making things simple for the photographer. We are always looking for ways to improve in this field, and Fundy Direct allows our photographers to make the process seamless from start-to-finish. We are thrilled that photographers can now implement Fundy Direct into their workflow.
Thank you, Billy! Learn more about RedTree Albums on their website or Facebook page.
