This week’s featured photographer is Miv Fournier of Miv Photography, who was recommended to us by Chris at GTA Imaging. Miv picked up his first 35mm when he was 14 and the rest is history. To develop his unique style, Miv traveled through Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Europe so he could study diverse styles to help develop his own craft.
How did you get started in photography?
I was 14 when I found my father’s old BW enlarger in the basement. He said I could use it as long as I paid for the chemicals. I was hooked from the first time I saw the image appear in the tray! For the kids out there…we used to use what was called film…
What has contributed to your success?
I think being adaptable and getting along with people. Tenacity for sure goes a long way. We create our own luck. It’s what you do with your talent that matters.
What is the most important thing for your continued success?
Keep your eyes open and not letting my creativity grow stale.
What’s the best business advice you’ve ever received?
Specialize! But anyone who looks at my website can quickly figure out that I haven’t listened to that. I just really enjoy shooting and love trying different things.
What is most important in your photography?
Not growing tired of the work. Holding onto the same passion throughout my career.
