During a Skype session with our good friend Frank Salas, he asked me how to easily make quick collages for print. He sells a lot of engagement session collages, and the faster they can be made the more profitable they are.
We went through the various design modules of Album Builder to find the best solution. Frank suggested using the Auto Design feature and then stretching and repulling the images in. This was the perfect solution.
The steps are easy. The first step is to simply create a blank document in Photoshop to design on. For this example, I opened a 30×40 document at 300 dpi for a canvas print.
The next step is to select the entire document with the marquee tool. Then click the “Design Area” option in the Auto Design Tab.
Now we need to fill up the entire area of the document. So we stretch out the images and fill it up.
Finally, we click “repull originals” to pull in the images at normal ratios. Pretty cool, huh?
Here is a video tutorial on how to create the collage from A-Z.
A big thank you to Frank Salas for the idea and to Jim Garner for the demonstration images. All images ©Jim Garner
